Schwärmerei

Today’s buzz-buzz Best Word Ever is schwärmerei: excessive sentiment.

An over-the-top noun, from German Schwärmerei, from schwärmen, “to be enthusiastic,” literally, “to swarm.” First known use: 1845.

At the sight of all those May flowers, Billy Bee was overcome with spring schwärmerei:
Time to make the honey, honey!

    1. Now THAT’s a word
      I never heard!
      And I do find it
      most absurd
      that such a word
      had not occurred
      to such a wordy nerd!

hehehe…I just had to write that :)

      to me before

    2. …minuse the “to me before”…that wasn’t supposed to stay there! lol

      • Hey, Felicia :) Listen…I HAD to make up for all the blog posts I’ve missed! lol

    3. Hey Donna – I really like your poem, especially the last line. Love you Felicia.

      • I’m glad you liked it, Rosalie :) As soon as I hear a rhyme (word/heard), it sparks more! :)
